I finally got to the season finale for the first season of Castle. Very nice. After that sort-of-cliffhanger, I just had to watch the Season premiere for Season 2.
Biggest change: Beckett's hair. Now she looks more like a TV star than a police detective! I like it! Lots more sex appeal with her outfits in this episode too. She also dresses like a TV star instead of a police detective now! Awesome.
I loved the dig at CSI in the season opener too, and the dig at Hollywood for optioning the Asteroids movie.

We caught up with V today. Now we have to wait for March. Stupid ABC... I figure there's about a 15% chance they'll actually finish it.

I asked Jace Hall what the chances were of ABC finishing V, and he assures me they will.
We'll see!

We finally got started with Legend of the Seeker and watched the first 6 episodes today (me sick on the couch, Angela bopping between Christmas tree decorating and the couch). It's in HD from Netflix Watch Now.
You've all sung praises for the show so I won't add to much other than to say I was really pleasantly surprised. I didn't like the Sword of Truth books much, past Wizard's First Rule, but I'm enjoying this TV version of it quite a lot.
I didn't realize it was a Sam Raimi series (I swear they're re-using some of the old leather armor from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess) and was delighted as can be to see Ted "Joxer the Mighty" Raimi in one episode as a map-maker!

I didn't know it was a Sam Raimi series either... I should have recognized the "look n' feel".

We're on episode 14 or so of season 1 of Legend of the Seeker now. I'd noticed Michael Hurst listed as director on at least a few eps, but in one of the recent episodes he had a part in front of the camera, too. It was good fun seeing "Iolas" back in action (even if he was playing a wizard and not Hercules' sidekick).
And Kahlan has to be my favorite fantasy heroine ever. I love how they have her fight...

I need to start watching "Legend of the Seeker" sometime -- it's just that my TV watching time is severely limited nowadays. (I've had to plain to watching a bunch of shows, including "Fringe" and "Flashforward.")

We've watched all the LotS eps on Netflix. Now we have to wait for them to show on TV.

The two episodes of Chuck were sooooo good tonight. Chuck is back and better than ever! Yay!
I even enjoyed the commercials with Chuck characters in them. If that's how they're paying for this season, I'm all for it. I draw the line at buying a new Honda Station Wagon just to support Chuck though.

We watched the first hour of Sunday night's two hour premiere last night. I thought it was brilliant how the writers got the gang back together. And yeah, that commercial with the characters was both effective and amusing.
Looking forward to more Chuck tonight! We've got hour 2 from Sunday and then last night's episode to enjoy.

Yeah, the Chuck season opener was absolutely brilliant... Didn't see the commercial, because I caught it on Hulu. I wonder if the DEA agent will be a regular now...

All caught up on Dollhouse. Now have to wait 2 weeks for the finale. What a great show this was... too bad the tv viewing public was too impatient to give it time to find its legs.

Syfy has acquired the U.S. rights to the BBC series Merlin from FremantleMedia Enterprises. The NBC Universal owned cable network picked up the rights to all 26 episodes of the series from its two seasons, and will premiere them on the channel in April 2010. The BBC has commissioned a third season which is not part of the deal.
According to an article from The Futon Critic last week, Syfy will be repeating the 13 episodes of Merlin S1 on Sunday, March 28 starting at 10am Eastern time in a day-long marathon, then S2 will start on Friday, April 2 before the return of Stargate Universe (which I took to mean Merlin at 8pm, then Stargate Universe at 9pm).

As usual, there were a ton of great lines in Big Bang Theory this week. But I think one of my favorites is when Sheldon is comparing Leonard to great evil and uses Rupert Murdock as one of his comparisons because he's the owner of Fox and cancelled Firefly. Hee!
As much as I wish Firefly had survived though, I am also thoroughly enjoying Castle and it wouldn't be the same without Nathan Fillion.
Those two shows plus Cake Boss, Project Runway (guilty pleasures) and White Collar are my television staples.
Oh, but Heroes v. Villians Survivor starts this week, so that one will probably go on my list as well. Depending on who gets voted out in the beginning...

So Project Runway is still worth watching Gwyn? I watched the first three seasons and loved the show. I especially LOVED the first season. But I thought it got progressively less interesting each season. In the fourth season, I just stopped watching at one point and never went back. I think it was because the people in Season 4 were so uninteresting to watch.

Yeah, there have been some clunker seasons, I agree. This season just started (I think this is week 3, maybe 4?) and I'm still on the fence. The challenges have been really interesting, but I'm not sure there are any designers I can root for to succeed or fail. But I tried to watch Launch My Line (Bravo channel's attempt to replace Project Runway when it moved to Lifetime) and oh my god was it awful. So by comparison Project Runway is still a gem. Just be ready to get caught up in the "Models of the Runway" gossip after the show. Talk about drama, lol.

I finally watched CAPRICA on DVD. Very impressed and I liked it much much more than I thought I would when I read the synopsis of the upcomming series. The DVD has some nudity so I guess they will trim it a bit when it is broadcast on SyFy.
Had to go searching for mentions of Caprica in here... I didn't realize it had been a movie/DVD before. We've watched it, and I was surprised--from the brief previews I saw in the final eps (*the* final ep?) of BG, I thought it was going to be 90210 in space... I should have known better! I'm liking it, but Gabriele is *loving* it (I think in the end she may have liked BG even more than I did)--it's one of the few shows she now really looks forward to.

Caprica is still in the Tivo, unwatched (all 3 episodes shown so far.) I need to catch up on my TV watching (and there's both a new Survivor and Amazing Race starting this week.)

Caprica is doing very very poorly in the ratings, even lower than Stargate Universe. Caprica may not get a second season. It is in trouble.
