Hee, what's funny is that Sony's messages keep implying they did do something.

BTW Irata, you probably saw this, but apparently the PS3 and Zune share a chip, so it actually WAS the same bug as screwed up the Zune back in 2008!

Sony's GDC Press Conference was almost all about the motion controller, now called Playstation Move. It was pretty much what we expected. The Wand w/buttons and then a 2nd not-a-nunchuk controller with an analog stick for moving around. In some games they use two wands... Without holding the things, they didn't look that much different than a wiimote w/wii motion plus, to be honest. Less than $100 gets you a Playstation Eye, Controller and a game. The Eye does allow 'augmented reality' stuff that the Wii can't do, and it works pretty well. They had some games where you see yourself on-screen, but instead of the wand you're holding a paintbrush or whatever.

On the other hand, Brian Crecente from Kotaku points out some differences: Speaking about table tennis he says: To play this game use use a single controller, and the camera watches your body location to see how sideways you're turned to the screen and, much more importantly, how close or far away you are from the table. So maybe the camera adds extra functionality that the Wii doesn't have. Full article (he talks a lot about the sword fighting game, which he likes better than the game in Wii Sports Resort): http://kotaku.com/5490575/hands+on-with-playstation-moves-wii-sports-resortAnd Stephen Totillo says its more (and less) than it appears [ok mostly he just highlights the differences]: http://kotaku.com/5490574/how-the-playstation-move-is-not-a-wii-remote

I got my box online last night, user name = gwynvaer if anyone wants to friend me. Just keep in mind, once the FFXIII blush wears off, my niece will likely recommandeer the machine and move it back to her room. When she does, I'll kill the internet connection just to keep her honest.

With the 360 you can plug a headset into your controller to chat, how do you do it with the PS3?

Use a bluetooth headset. Or alternatively a USB one, but then you have to run a cable from the PS3 to your noggin.

Oh, didn't realize PS3 had built-in Bluetooth. If anyone could link one to get me started with my search that would help, though I'll see what I can find. Thanks!!
