It's almost here!  Setting aside the overly earnest announcer, this video has me stoked for the game. As with Demon's Souls, the mashup of single and multiplayer gaming sounds really interesting to me.

Neat.  Sounds a lot like Dark Cloud 2 on the PS2, what with the town building and all that.

However, I'm definitely waiting for impressions from other people first.  The Japanese version which has been out since December apparently got a pretty poor critical reception.  But I read somewhere that they're making lots of improvements for the international version, so we'll see.

I've been waiting for this game since the PS3 launch (it was one of the games show in that infamous, CGI-heavy video at E3).

I think the negative Japanese reaction might have to do with the fact that you do not play the hero of the story, but a member of the heroe's party (you create your own character at the start of the game, which is not the norm for JRPGs).

In any case, this is a Factor 5 game, and they have yet to let me down...

FWIW I pre-ordered it, so I'm happy to be Pub Guinea Pig on this one. Smiley I had a couple of $25 Amazon gift certificates that were burning a hole in my pocket. Smiley

This might be the year the income tax refund needs to fund a PS3 purchase.  This looks like it could be really fun.  Or, if not "fun", addicting to the builder in me that wants to quest to get more goodies to play with.  Smiley

Darn! Those pesky PS3's just follow you out of the store, so what can you do. Smiley

Congrats on the new toy!

My copy of the game is still in shrinkwrap, but I hope I can get into it before the impending launch of FF13...

We're playing Heavy Rain on the PS3 currently, and I hope to get to this one after FF - no way I can do it before!  Grats on the new toy!!

That's the real motivation, anxiously awaiting FFXIII.  But it's just sitting there in the mean time, I think my niece has been playing some Dragon Age and that's about it.  We haven't even bought any BluRay movies or anything!  But after the crazy splurges with the income tax money, I need to be careful again and don't want to pick up a game that we won't end up playing.  So definitely looking forward to Pubber reviews!  Smiley
