Presenting the Sultan Gaming Table: http://www.geekchichq.com/The_Sultan_.html(insert gamer lust here) Of course, $9650... and it's *still* not large enough to hold some of the wargames I've got!

OK so that can be wish 1. Wish 2 is for a house to keep it in. Wish 3 is for a pile 'o money so I can not work, but rather stay home and game.

Another entry: http://www.sosakonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=201&Itemid=35(and I am now the owner of one... can't wait to take it out of my pocket at work tomorrow! ). I would still love a Sultan, too. Shucks, I'd love to be able to set up my two nice folding tables and actually play a game, but oh well!

Congrats. My grandfather used to love pocketknives, switchblades and all related/similar blades - he had quite a collection...

I used to have (hope I still do) a "pocket knife" that remember being told was used by my grandfather when he was in the Army... in WW I! (Dad was a late baby). It wasn't really a pocket knife, as it came with a full size spoon and fork, but it was multi-function. I hope I can find it again (never give something like that to a kid who can't appreciate it yet).
I've got a number of knives/multitools, but they don't rival my bag collection, let alone my game collection!

Man, there's an even bigger Swiss Army knife out there (albeit by Wenger instead of Victorinox, although I think V owns W now...): http://www.wengerna.com/giant-knife-16999I've got Swiss Army Knife envy... although at like seven times what I paid for mine I think I can hold off.

Okay, have to insert dumb blonde female question here. 1. What kind of pockets does one need to be able to put this in it and not have it drop out the bottom onto your foot? 2. How many of those doodads do you really need handy in your pocket every day? My grandfather carried a pocket knife his whole life, and routinely brought it out to slice an apple or clean under his fingernails (yes, I know, but he was a Manly Man! and what's a little fingernail goo on an apple slice? Not going to kill you... ) and it only had one blade. He never carried anything even remotely resembling a "normal" swiss army knife, let alone something like this. But I bet his workroom had all those tools in various shapes and sizes! Do people *really* carry a knife like this around, or is this just a pissing contest kind of thing to see whose is bigger?

1. You need a backpack!
2. Maybe 2-3?
No, this isn't for use--it's considered a display item, or a collector's item, although I admit I do carry the mini-monster I mentioned earlier in my "EDC" (every day carry) bag, and I have actually referenced the thermometer and barometer in it a few times....

I carried a pocket knife for most of my life, until suddenly having such a thing would draw the attention of an anti-terrorist squad. I have, somewhere, a small gold-plated pocketknife that my grandfather used to carry when he was in his Sunday best! I personally carried a rigging knife, like this one: That awl/spike can in handy more often than you'd ever imagine.

I mostly carry the pocket knife I got back in college, circa 1985 or '86 -- it was the largest Victorinox out then, but it's reasonable. I probably use the little blade, the toothpick, and the Phillips head screwdriver the most (I used to use the bottle opener a lot--it was great for pulling heavy-duty staples, but I don't encounter those much anymore!). I do have a Victorinox Cybertool that I use some of the small screwdriver bits from when I infrequently work on electronics.
Somewhere I have the knife--with spoon and fork!--that I believe my Grandpa used in WW I (yes, I, not II -- Dad was a late baby!).

My grandfathers carried pocket knifes. They were farmers, they needed it almost constantly. Also, back in those days (1920-1950) knife fights were quite common overhere, very weird now. Streets / villages against each other. My father carries a pocket knife. He has a whole range (including one of those heavyweight Leathermans) but prefers the simplest one which I think he inherited. Selfmade wooden "holders" [?]. Extremely sharp. Slightly illegal as the blade is kept in place once you open it. That's considered to be an illegal weapon overhere but all the old folks have it. He's also a farmer so he uses it a lot. I myself usually carry an old swiss knife. A small one. With miniature scissors, needle, corkscrew, toothpick, blade and very handy: a ballpoint which is cleverly worked into it. It also has a hook for which I have no idea what it's used for. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow, maybe some of you know what it can be used for? (I always assumed it has something to do with cleaning fish or something, but no idea what or how)
As for the spike Jaded? What do you use that for? To make an extra hole in a leather belt?

As for the spike Jaded? What do you use that for? To make an extra hole in a leather belt? I think it's more for loosening knots; it's called a rigging knife because sailors carried them. Maybe also for punching holes in canvas?? It's pretty big for putting a hole in leather, though.

That hook, Pokke, is used to turn the knife into a handle for carrying a shopping bag (I have some of those knives with pens too).

If it's the same hook that I have on mine, yup. I guess you use it with some kind of reusable shopping sack, maybe one that's cloth or netted?
